MINI One: The InteriorThe interior is very stylish and all the details are matching in color and material. There are many metal elements and metal-like inserts and the fact that the front panel is almost symmetric means that BMW is sure of good demand on Mini cars in the foggy Albion regardless of their trails with the Englishmen. What is more, Mini cars are assembled in England at a factory in Oxford that belongs to BMW. The seat is unexpectedly low, which is reasonable as the car is rather fast and maneuverable and the gravity center should be maximally close to the ground in order to maintain the balance. That is why one can feel him or herself to be a racer when driving a Mini. No comments concerning the back seat as it is placed in the car simply for form's sake as it happens with all a la sports cars. It won't be too comfortable sitting there if taking about a person of standard built and there is no reason even think of larger dimensions. The same goes to the trunk although Mini is not designed for family trips at all. It becomes evident why this car was created when you look at the tachometer that is simply flaring. This emphasizes race car's character of the automobile and is proofed by performance specifications we'll talk about later. Its steering wheel moves backwards and forwards with the steering column. Large speedometer is placed in the center of the panel and therefore it is seen from any place in the saloon. There is a range of six tumblers responsible for secondary functions (window lifts, fog headlamps, doors' locking, and so on) in the lower part of the central cantilever under the rotating handles of the microclimate system. These are actually real tumblers with metal levers separated from each other by nice partitions. It looks really stylish although they aren't very convenient to use. The same can be said about the mirrors, which are very beautiful but at the same time too small and cannot assure good visibility. The pedals are also too close to each other and if pushing on the clutch and brake interchangeably one foot will touch the other one. |
